OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil for solid wood furniture in the kitchen & bathroom.
Comfort and solid wood - a perfect combination. Many architects and end consumers agree and are increasingly asking for a natural impregnating oil for kitchen and bathroom furniture. Our OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil is a high-solid oil that is ideally suited for this purpose. It is solvent-free, has a high tung oil content and is naturally highly water-repellent, durable and moisture-regulating.
The oil-treated natural wood surface can safely come into contact with food and is LFGB-certified with an official seal of approval (food-safe). At the same time, Worktop-Oil highlights the wood's natural grain and enhances its characteristic color. This gives the surface a particularly authentic appearance and showcases the wood to even greater effect.
Another advantage is that the natural oil surface can be refreshed regularly with little effort. Even stains and fine scratches can easily be sanded out and re-oiled, without having to completely re-impregnate the entire surface. After the repair, these areas are simply re-oiled with OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil.
Here are some tips for solid wood furniture in the kitchen & bathroom:
- Not every type of wood suitable for kitchen worktops and living-area furniture is also suitable for the bathroom. It is important that the type of wood reacts only slightly to moisture. Particularly suitable options include oak, smoked oak, teak and all thermally modified woods.
- The oil-treated surface can continue to breathe and remains vapor-permeable. It can absorb and release moisture while also repelling water.
- Impregnated wood has an open-pore structure and is never completely sealed. You should therefore avoid allowing moisture to stand for long periods and wipe up liquids such as water, wine, coffee or fruit juice as quickly as possible. Hot cooking pots and similar items should likewise not be placed on the wooden tabletop without a trivet.
- The impregnation should be refreshed regularly by re-oiling. How often you need to re-oil depends on how heavily the furniture is used. Good indicators are when water resistance and color depth decrease or the surface feels dry and brittle. It should then be maintained.
- Surface scratches do not expose unprotected wood, as the protection comes from within. "Cosmetic repairs" can be carried out easily: Carefully sand the affected area and re-oil it with OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil. Any color difference will even out over time.
- Soiling on wooden furniture can be easily removed with a little lukewarm water and a clean cloth. For removing more stubborn dirt, you are welcome to use our mild OLI-NATURA wood soap.
