Innovative, forward-looking action is characteristic of Oli, including when it comes to packaging. Our oils are filled in 100% recyclable tinplate containers and shipped climate-neutrally. We use biodegradable packaging chips and bottles made from recycled PET to minimize our ecological footprint. Together with the Lebenshilfe workshop, which lovingly packs our sets, we are strengthening our commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
100% recyclable tinplate
We fill our OLI-NATURA oils & waxes into recyclable tinplate containers. Tinplate is 100% recyclable and the material with the highest recycling rate. It can be reused infinitely often without any loss of quality. In Germany, over 90% of all tinplate packaging is already recycled. Completely emptied tinplate containers should therefore always be disposed of in the yellow recycling bin or yellow recycling bag.
Bottles made from rPET
As much as we would like to, we cannot yet do entirely without plastic. Fortunately, however, there are sustainable alternatives that enable us to use the advantages of plastic as a packaging material without unnecessarily burdening the environment. One such alternative is recycled PET, or rPET for short, a raw material based on used and reprocessed PET bottles. PET can be easily recycled. For our 1-liter bottles, we have switched to the more environmentally and climate-friendly rPET. These recycled rPET bottles have a slightly different color than conventional PET bottles and are not as crystal clear. At the end of their respective service life, the product made from rPET can be recycled again in its entirety and processed into a new item.
Second-life cartons & bio-chips
To keep packaging waste as low as possible and conserve resources, we are happy to use intact cartons two or even three times. Discarded cartons are sent for recycling or put into our cardboard shredder.
As filling material, we are currently switching from the environmentally friendly "Flo-Pak green" to the bio-packaging chips "Flo-Pak The Clean Bio One Natural", which are made from 100% natural raw materials such as air, water and vegetable starch. These chips can be reused several times, are 100% recyclable, free from artificial colorants and water-soluble. Biodegradable, they can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way via the organic waste bin, compost or wastewater. On contact with water, the bio-chips dissolve completely. In addition, the "Flo-Pak The Clean Bio One Natural" chips are certified according to EN 13432, confirming their ecological degradability and sustainability and further emphasizing their environmental friendliness.

GoGreen shipping
We ship orders climate-neutrally. Through our DHL GoGreen shipping service, climate projects are supported to offset the resulting CO2-emissions. Orders are collected from us only once a day, saving CO2 already at this stage.
The long-term perspective
Everything we do affects our environment as well as the people and animals who inhabit it. As a company, we are aware of the impact of our actions and strive to proactively and continuously follow our path toward greater sustainability. Our goal is to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. Our product range is environmentally friendly; we stopped developing solvent-based lacquers some time ago. We also make every effort with our packaging to strike a balance between "too much and too little." Too much packaging material irritates some people, while too little can result in products being damaged and returned. Despite our efforts, there is always room for improvement. The path to sustainability is long and full of challenges - a journey without an endpoint, but with many important milestones.
