The OLI NATURA® Hardener is the B component for selected OLI NATURA® oils. The additional cross-linking supports curing, accelerates drying and increases the chemical resistance of the treated surface. For approved coloured oils, it supports pigment incorporation.

For floors, stairs, furniture and worktops according to the application area of the respective oil. Mix the hardener thoroughly with the oil in the prescribed ratio shortly before application.

Mixing ratios by volume - oil : hardener

5:1 - Worktop-Oil and Colour-Oil Midnight-Black

  • 0.5 litres of oil + 100 ml hardener

  • 2.5 litres of oil + 500 ml hardener

10:1 - HS Professional Oil clear and Colour HS Professional Oil

  • 1 litre of oil + 100 ml hardener

  • 2.5 litres of oil + 250 ml hardener

Only mix the amount required.

Pot life: 2-3 hours for clear oils and a maximum of 2 hours for coloured oils. Do not continue processing after this time.

Mixing and application

  • Thoroughly mix the hardener with the oil in the prescribed ratio shortly before application. Do not mix on the wood surface.
  • Mix only the amount required and use it immediately. Do not return mixed material to the original container.
  • Prepare the substrate and apply the product according to the technical data sheet for the respective oil.

Pot life

  • Clear oils: 2–3 hours.
  • Colored oils: maximum 2 hours.
  • Do not continue processing after the pot life has expired.

Application conditions and drying

  • Do not apply below +15 °C. Observe the temperature specifications in the TDS for the respective oil.
  • Ensure sufficient ventilation during and after application.
  • Observe the drying times and load-bearing capacity specified in the technical data sheet for the respective oil. Protect from water until fully cured.

Safety – risk of spontaneous combustion: After use, soak oil-soaked cloths and pads thoroughly with water and then leave them to dry spread out outdoors. Avoid heat accumulation.

What advantages does OLI NATURA® Hardener offer?

OLI NATURA® Hardener supports curing through additional cross-linking, accelerates curing, and increases the chemical resistance of the treated surface. For approved coloured oils, it supports pigment integration. It is also suitable for applications with a fine final sanding.

Which oils can I use with OLI NATURA® Hardener?

OLI NATURA® Hardener is approved for use with the following oils. The mixing ratios are specified by volume, oil : hardener.

5:1

  • OLI NATURA® Worktop-Oil
  • OLI NATURA® Colour-Oil Midnight-Black

10:1

  • OLI NATURA® HS hardwax oil colourless
  • OLI NATURA® HS Professional Oil colourless
  • OLI NATURA® Colour HS Professional Oil

Is OLI NATURA® Hardener a thinner?

No. OLI NATURA® Hardener is a reactive hardener component. It supports the oil's cross-linking and curing and does not replace an oil thinner.

Can I mix the oil and hardener directly on the wooden surface?

No. Before application, thoroughly mix OLI NATURA® Hardener with the oil in the prescribed ratio. Only prepare the amount required.

How long can I use the mixed oil?

After adding OLI NATURA® Hardener, the pot life for colourless oils is 2–3 hours, and for coloured oils maximally 2 hours. Do not continue using the mixture after the pot life has expired.

Can I store the oil-hardener mixture?

No. Mixing in OLI NATURA® Hardener starts the reaction. Use the mixture within the pot life and do not return it to the original container.

What do I need to bear in mind regarding oil-soaked cloths and pads?

Risk of spontaneous combustion: After use, completely soak cloths and pads impregnated with oil or an oil-hardener mixture in water and leave them to dry individually spread out outdoors on a non-combustible surface. Do not fold or stack them. Avoid heat accumulation and follow the safety instructions for the respective oil.

How long can OLI NATURA® Hardener be stored?

OLI NATURA® Hardener can be stored for six months in its unopened original container when stored in a dry place between +5 and +30 °C . Protect from water, moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.

Can I continue using opened OLI NATURA® Hardener?

After each use, remove product residue from the spout and closure with a clean, dry cloth to prevent the closure from sticking. Do not use water. Close the container tightly immediately and protect it from moisture. The stated shelf life applies to unopened containers.

  • Solids content: 100%
  • Diisocyanate monomers: < 0.1% by weight. No specific diisocyanate training requirement under REACH;
  • Not classified as dangerous goods under ADR/RID, ADN, IMDG and ICAO/IATA.
  • GISCODE Ö 10+/DD when mixed with colourless oil, Ö 20+/DD when mixed with coloured oils

Information on diisocyanate training

The product contains less than 0.1% by weight of diisocyanate monomers. The specific diisocyanate training requirement under REACH does not apply. Required training and protective measures remain in place.

When working with oil

Oil-soaked rags, cloths and pads can self-ignite. Avoid heat accumulation and follow the instructions for safe handling of the respective oil.
