Worktop oil for wood and wood-epoxy surfaces
From the Blacklabel Edition. Developed with Jungo Design - for worktops, tables, bathroom furniture, and modern wood and wood-epoxy surfaces.
Worktop-Oil protects and saturates wood in just one coat.
The 100% high-solid formulation based on linseed oil and tung oil provides maximum wood saturation, intense enhancement, and a durable, water-repellent surface. Highly transparent - for a natural wood look without a hazy effect.
The pigment-free oil intensifies the natural color of the wood, highlights the grain and structure, and provides a matte, tactile finish with excellent everyday durability.
Ideal for tabletops, worktops, solid wood furniture, bathroom furniture, and river tables.
For wood-epoxy surfaces, fine sanding finishes, or applications subject to increased moisture exposure, OLI-NATURA Hardener (5:1) can optionally be used.
Tip for professionals: For maximum durability, OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil 2C is available as a preconfigured 2K set (500 ml oil + 100 ml Hardener) in the distinctive BLACKLABEL round tin.
Preparation
- Sand the surface professionally and remove dust.
- Final sanding of wood for furniture up to max. P180
- For fine sanding, application with OLI-NATURA Hardener (5:1) is recommended.
- Wood moisture content 8–12%.
- Colour effect, enhancement and oil absorption vary depending on the type of wood and sanding pattern.
Note:
Before the final sanding of the wood, wipe the surface with a damp cloth using OLI-NATURA PreOilCleaner. Removes sanding residue and reduces reactions caused by tannins. Then allow to dry for at least 2 hours.
If pre-treated with OLI-NATURA Reactive Stain “Antique”, do not wet the surface and do not use PreOilCleaner.
Application
- Shake or stir well before use.
- (Optional) For 2K application, mix the oil and OLI-NATURA Hardener at a ratio of 5:1. Apply immediately. Pot life approx. 2–3 hours. Do not pour excess material back into the container.
- For wood-epoxy surfaces, fine sanding and applications subject to increased moisture exposure, application with OLI-NATURA Hardener is recommended.
- Apply the oil thinly and work it in evenly with a beige pad. For large surfaces, distribute with a squeegee beforehand if necessary.
- Allow to penetrate for 15–30 minutes.
- Polish off excess material dry with a white pad. If there is a large excess of material, first pick it up with a cloth or remove it with a rubber squeegee.
- For wood-epoxy surfaces: Remove excess material from resin areas and polish dry, as epoxy resin does not absorb oil.
- If necessary, repolish the following day with a white pad and 5–10 ml/m² of oil.
Coverage
- 1 coat at approx. 20–40 g/m² (approx. 25–50 m²/L).
- Coverage varies depending on the type of wood, sanding pattern and absorbency.
Drying
- Depending on temperature and humidity, dust-dry after 1–2 hours and fully cured after 5–7 days.
- Using OLI-NATURA Hardener reduces the curing time to 2–3 days.
- Protect from water and handle gently during this time.
Cleaning & Storage
Clean tools immediately after use with OLI-NATURA brush cleaner, OLI-NATURA Oil Thinner or white spirit.
Can be stored for at least 36 months when unopened. Store in a cool, dry, frost-free place. Close opened containers immediately and use promptly.
⚠ Safety
Oil-soaked cloths can spontaneously combust.
After use, store in an airtight container or immerse in water.
Care & Cleaning
Protect freshly oiled surfaces from water until fully cured.
For routine cleaning, remove dust dry and wipe with a damp cloth as needed. For heavier soiling, use OLI-NATURA wood soap.
To refresh the surface, use OLI-NATURA Refresher, OLI-NATURA wood care oil, or the original oil.
Scratches and signs of wear can be repaired by sanding the affected area and re-oiling.
The product is not subject to labeling requirements and, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, is not classified as hazardous. Not classified as dangerous goods; no GHS pictograms or signal words are required.
Oil-soaked cloths/pads can spontaneously ignite due to heat buildup! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. P102 Keep out of reach of children.
