PREPARATION
- Professionally sand the wood surface: Final sanding for furniture, max. grit 180; for stairs and floors, grit 120. Then thoroughly remove dust from the surface. Remove dust thoroughly.
- Optional: Clean the surface with PreOilCleaner and water.
- Wood moisture: 8–12 %
- Substrate: Firm, dry, clean, sound and free of separating agents.
- Material application: Apply at room temperature.
⚠️ NOTE (if pre-treating with Reactive Stain for Oak):
- When using OLI-NATURA Antique Reactive Stain do not wet the surface beforehand and do not clean it with PreOilCleaner For 2K application (A+B component).
Shake/stir the A+B components thoroughly beforehand.
- Mix in a 10:1 ratio (A:B)
- Mix thoroughly for approx. 1–2 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Tip:
- Only mix as much as can be applied within approx.3 hours. APPLICATION ON FURNITURE, STAIRS AND WORKTOPS Stir/shake the oil vigorously before use.
(Optional) For 2K application, thoroughly mix component A (oil) and component B (hardener) in a 10:1 ratio until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- Depending on the shape of the object, apply the oil with a brush, roller or directly to the surface, then distribute and work it in evenly by hand or with an eccentric sander using a beige pad. Make sure that the surface is evenly wetted. If the oil is absorbed too quickly, apply a little more oil.
- Allow the oil to penetrate for a few minutes, then polish off the excess oil by hand or with an eccentric sander using a white polishing pad until the surface is saturated and no longer appears wet. If too much oil remains on the surface, remove the excess with a cloth before polishing.
The surface must not feel sticky. - Das Öl je nach Objektgeometrie mit Pinsel, Rolle oder direkt auf die Fläche auftragen, dann mit einem beigen Pad per Hand oder Exzenterschleifer gleichmäßig verteilen und einmassieren. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Oberfläche gleichmäßig benetzt ist. Sollte das Öl zu schnell aufgesogen werden, etwas Öl nachgeben.
- Lassen Sie das Öl einige Minuten einziehen und polieren Sie das überschüssige Öl so lange mit einem weißen Polierpad per Hand oder Exzenterschleifer aus, bis die Oberfläche gesättigt und nicht mehr nass erscheint. Steht zu viel Öl auf der Oberfläche, Überschuss vor dem Auspolieren mit einem Tuch abnehmen.
Die Oberfläche darf sich nicht klebrig anfühlen. - If needed, polish again the following day with a white polishing pad and a small amount of oil (5-10 ml/m²).
APPLICATION ON FLOORS
- Depending on the shape of the object, apply the oil with a brush, roller or directly to the surface, then distribute and work it in evenly by hand or with an eccentric sander using a beige pad. Make sure that the surface is evenly wetted. If the oil is absorbed too quickly, apply a little more oil.
- Allow the oil to penetrate for a few minutes, then polish off the excess oil by hand or with an eccentric sander using a white polishing pad until the surface is saturated and no longer appears wet. If too much oil remains on the surface, remove the excess with a cloth before polishing.
The surface must not feel sticky. - Apply the oil evenly in a thin coat using a spatula, oil roller, or oil brush. Work in sections of 5 to 15 m². Apply more oil to dry areas.
- Within 60–90 minutes, work in the oil with a single-disc or polishing machine (beige pad) until the wood is saturated. Alternatively, use a beige Super Hand Pad and pad holder for a telescopic handle.
- For the final polish and to remove any excess oil, polish the surface by hand or with a polishing machine using an oil-absorbing cloth or white polishing pad. Do not leave any excess oil on the surface.
TECHNICAL DATA:
COVERAGE: 1 coat, depending on the type of wood and the absorbency of the substrate, approx. 20-40 ml/m² per coat (approx. 25-50 m²/l).
DRYING: Depending on humidity and temperature, the surface is: dust-dry after 1-2 hours, fully cured after 2-3 days. Protect from water during this time, do not clean with a damp cloth, and handle gently. Drying takes correspondingly longer at low temperatures and high humidity.
STORAGE: In the unopened original container, the oil has a shelf life of approx. 24 months, while the Hardener has a shelf life of approx. 6 months . Store in a cool, dry place. Use as soon as possible after opening.
Important: After dispensing, clean the container opening to prevent the closure from sticking due to dried oil or hardener residue.
CLEANING WORK EQUIPMENT: OLI-NATURA brush cleaner or oil thinner.
⚠ Safety notice:
Oil-soaked cloths and rags can spontaneously combust due to heat buildup .After use, therefore, store them airtight in a metal container or immerse them in water.
Oiled wood surfaces retain their natural charm through regular cleaning and care. Dust and light dirt can be removed with a dry or slightly damp cloth - never wipe wet! Parquet should ideally be vacuumed or swept daily, as sand can cause fine scratches.
OLI-NATURA wood soap cleans gently without damaging the wood. For refreshing the surface, OLI-NATURA wood maintenance oil or - for light shades - the OLI-NATURA Refresher are suitable. Alternatively, the colored HS Professional Oil can be used as a pigmented maintenance oil mixed in a 1:2 ratio with OLI-NATURA oil thinner.
Care intervals depend on use and wear. If the surface becomes dull or repels water less effectively, it is time for re-oiling
The product is not subject to labeling requirements. The mixture is not classified as hazardous within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. It does not need to be labeled with GHS hazard pictograms or signal words and is not classified as dangerous goods.
Safety instructions
Oil-soaked cloths/pads can spontaneously ignite due to heat buildup! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. Keep out of reach of children.
