What colour shades are available?
The raw wood effect lacquer is colourless, contains no pigments and preserves the natural character of the wood. It dries to an ultra-matte, raw wood-like finish.
What container sizes is it available in?
In 1 l, 5 l and 10 l. Optionally also as a 2K system with OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2.
Which surfaces is the lacquer suitable for?
For wood and wood-based materials indoors, especially light-coloured wood species. Typical applications: furniture, doors, stairs, panelling, shopfitting and exhibition stand construction.
Does the substrate need to be prepared?
Yes. The wood should be sanded with P150–180 grit, followed by intermediate sanding with P220–280 after the first coat. The surface must be dry, clean and free of dust and grease.
Can I also use the lacquer on dark wood?
Yes, the lacquer can also be used on dark wood. It causes hardly any enhancement of the wood grain, especially on walnut. However, as the raw wood effect was specially developed for light-coloured wood species, a test application is recommended in all cases - particularly on exotic woods.
How many coats are required?
Usually two coats. For spray application: base coat approx. 100 g/m², intermediate sanding, then top coat approx. 100 g/m². When brushing: apply the first coat evenly, intermediate sanding after 90 minutes, then apply a second coat at 80–100 g/m².
Does the lacquer need to be stirred?
Yes, stir thoroughly before use. Reseal the container tightly after use to prevent skin formation.
Can I spray or thin the lacquer?
Yes. Ready to spray; dilute with 5–10% water if necessary, depending on the equipment. Do not use filters <100 µm for airless/airmix application.
Can I also use the lacquer with hardener?
Yes, with OLI-AQUA Hardener 13.2 at a mixing ratio of 10:1. Pot life: approx. 3 hours.
Is the lacquer safe for health?
Yes. It is water-based, low-odour, free of formaldehyde, free of aromatics, resistant to saliva and perspiration (DIN 53160), and suitable for children's toys (DIN EN 71-3).
Is the lacquer slip-resistant?
Yes, tested according to EN 16165/DGUV - Class R10, ideal for stairs.
Is the lacquer difficult to ignite?
Yes, it meets fire protection class DIN EN 13501-1.
Is the lacquer suitable for outdoor use?
No, it is intended for indoor use only.
How do I clean the tools?
Rinse with water immediately after use.
