0% wood enhancement, 0% pore definition, and 0% VOCs (volatile organic compounds) result in a 100% raw wood effect. This is the DNA of »OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil For Furniture«. This is made possible by plant-based oils in an aqueous emulsion that are refined in an elaborate process. A fine pinch of light-stable white pigments is also added to complete the raw wood effect and provide UV protection. The viscous formulation can be applied perfectly with a brush or sprayer, has good hold on vertical surfaces, and is therefore recommended for stair and furniture surfaces.

Whether in a child's room, bedroom, or living room: »Scandic-Oil For Furniture« feels at home in every living area. It protects untreated and freshly sanded furniture or stairs made from light-colored softwood and hardwood.

Before you get started, however, the furniture piece must be finely sanded, dry, clean, and free of dust and grease. A grit of 240 is recommended for the final sanding. Then remove all dust from the surface. Here we show you step by step how to apply it: Shake the container well before opening. This allows the oil-water emulsion and the settled pigment to mix thoroughly again.

Always apply the oil at room temperature. Do not apply it in direct sunlight or heat. Apply the first coat generously in the direction of the grain using a brush or a flat brush. Initially, the wet oil enhances the wood's natural color. But don't worry, the enhancement disappears again as it dries.
After just two to three hours, the first coat of oil is dry and ready for intermediate sanding. This removes the wood fibers that have risen due to the water content in the oil. To minimize the risk of sanding through, hand intermediate sanding with a P220 sanding sponge is recommended. Then remove all dust from the surface.
Now apply the second coat of oil with the brush or a flat brush. Apply this coat generously in the direction of the grain until the surface is evenly wetted. It is best to immediately massage the wet oil in without leaving any residue using a beige pad, either by hand or with a polishing machine. The surface should feel dry afterward.

TIP: If you have applied too much oil and can no longer remove it with a pad, simply wipe off the excess with a cotton cloth or oil-absorbent cloth. Then polish the surface once more with a polishing pad.

Here are a few more application advantages: »Scandic-Oil« forgives minor sanding errors and does not highlight them. Its fast drying enables the surface to be treated within one day. The surface is fully cured and ready for use after just three to five days. Oil-soaked cloths, pads, or brushes do not tend to self-ignite. Brushes & co. are easy to clean with water and can then be reused. The surface can be refreshed and recoated repeatedly without sanding.

Protection and care

Like skin, wood also needs to be cleaned and cared for. Dirt is removed by the mild »OLI-NATURA wood soap«, while the »OLI-NATURA Refresher« refreshes the furniture. The emulsion penetrates deep into the wood pores and renews the protective effect from within. The raw wood effect is preserved and minor scratches are reduced. Use the »Refresher« according to the needs of the wood: for example, when water resistance decreases or the wooden furniture feels dry and brittle. With regular cleaning and care, »Scandic-Oil«-oiled surfaces can provide many years or even decades of enjoyment.

The typical intensification of the wood tone is reduced, the natural color remains largely unchanged, and the surface looks almost freshly sanded. Its high light stability helps slow darkening and yellowing while providing reliable everyday protection. Even on deeply brushed and textured oak, pigment accumulation in the pores remains almost invisible. This creates a calm, natural raw wood look without a limed effect. For more heavily used surfaces, 2K application with OLI NATURA® H2O-Hardener is recommended. What does wood look like after applying OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE? The wood's natural color remains largely unchanged. The pores are not highlighted in white - creating a naturally raw surface without a limed effect that looks and feels like freshly sanded wood. Optional additional work steps can be used to adjust the surface appearance precisely. The impregnation can be refreshed repeatedly by re-oiling with OLI NATURA® Refresher. Testing on a sample area of the original wood is recommended. 20-ml samplers are available for this purpose. How easy is OLI NATURA® Scandic-Oil FOR FURNITURE to apply? The raw wood effect oil is applied to bare wood in two coats - by brush, roller, or spray application. Since the water content can raise the wood fibers, light intermediate sanding after the first coat is recommended.
