Treating wood with wax - 5 tips
- The wooden surface should be clean and free from dust and grease. If the wax is being applied to the raw wooden surface for the first time, it is advisable to sand it first.
- Carefully warming the furniture wax makes its consistency softer and easier to apply.
- Apply it thinly in circular motions with a soft, lint-free cloth or a white polishing pad.
- Allow the wax to penetrate and dry thoroughly. Then polish the surface thoroughly with a soft cloth or a white polishing pad. The more it is polished, the glossier the surface will become.
- Repeat the waxing process if necessary - especially when treating raw wooden surfaces for the first time. It is better to apply several thin coats and allow the wax to dry thoroughly between coats. The result will then be much better.
