A sample area on the original wood provides the most reliable indication. Then protect the freshly oiled surface from rain and moisture for 5–8 days.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVery dry or highly absorbent wood can be oiled a second time after drying overnight. Treat dense woods such as teak only thinly.
